It’s Saturday morning in Anaheim, California and the usual suspects are flying into town for the first Microsoft SharePoint Conference for two years. The event is a sell out with over 7,000 delegates, and everyone is looking forward to the SharePoint Conference Party on Tuesday night at Disneyland. More news on that as it happens…
I’ve been lucky enough to be at all of the Microsoft SharePoint Conferences since 2007 and it’s interesting to see the changing nature of the sessions. Back in 2007 it was mainly a techy event, but by the time SharePoint 2010 was released in November 2009 the Vegas conference was about 50 / 50 in terms of techy and non-tech sessions. The non-tech sessions covered topic such as user adoption, governance, and social computing. This year we are starting to see the emergence of the mobile, cloud, and Windows 8 sessions.
My focus at the moment is social, cloud, mobile and Windows 8. Here are the sessions I intend to be at this week:
